Wisconsin Asbestos Legislation Hurts Veterans
Asbestos mesothelioma lawsuits are something our law firm has been involved in for more than a decade. More often than not, these cases involve the deaths of men who served and were exposed to asbestos in our armed forces. The deaths of these U.S. Veterans and the future likely deaths of other U.S. Veterans have brought together a group of Wisconsin Veteran groups, including The American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), and Military Order of the Purple Heart, oppose Wisconsin State Senate Bill AB 19 (SB 13). More about this group can be found http://www.wisconsinasbestosvictims.org, which helps to explain the problems with this proposed legislation relating to asbestos.
Unfortunately, many of our Wisconsin legislators don’t get it or refuse to think for themselves and to understand the legislation. Yet sadly, this proposed law will harshly effect the rights of the largest asbestos victims constituency, former members of the Marines, Army, Air Force, and U.S. Navy. Moreover, it will only effect such victims in Wisconsin – no other state.
If you have the time, please call your Wisconsin legislators and let them know that you stand with the Veterans against State Senate Bill AB 19 (SB 13), 1-800-362-9472.
